Sleeps:

We rate our tents based on the number of full length sleeping pads that fit on the floor of the tent. A standard full length sleeping pad is 70"L x 20"W.

For space to store gear, room for cots or airbeds, or just more living space, consider a floor plan that is larger than the number of people you are trying to sleep.

Weather

Three-Season Tents:

Most popular style, strong enough to handle rain in spring, summer, or fall.

Four-Season Tents:

Heavier construction with a lower profile, designed to withstand more wind stress & heavier snow loads than a three-season tent. Made of higher grade fabrics, contain more poles for added strength, total coverage fly’s and full vestibules. Can be hot and heavy when used in moderate weather.

Frames

Aluminum (6000-series)

3+ Season use. Diameter varies depending on tent model. Very good strength, great stability, lightweight, very easy field assembly. No seams to split.

Aluminum (7000-series)

3 and 4 Season use. Premium quality aluminum for rigid or pre-bent framework. Excellent stability, lightest weight, most compact, very easy field assembly.

Fiberglass:

3 Season use. Most economical framework for holding a curve or arc. Good strength, good stability, easy field assembly.

Steel:

3 Season use. Good strength, good stability. Chain corded for easy field assembly.
